Letter to 2020

Dear 2020,

You have been a lot. You have shown a lot. You have taught us a lot. I know for many that 2020 was not what they have planned. This is mostly due to the global pandemic: COVID-19. This global pandemic was not apart of the plan at all. This pandemic has caused a lot of pain and suffering to many, and has also been a blessing in disguise to some. During this pandemic we have seen people lose their jobs, businesses and even their lives. Unemployment was at it’s highest, grocery store shelves were empty. It was a lot to see and live through.

But, through it all we made it!! We are at the end of 2020 and although we had so much happen this year; we still have to look at the positive. For some, 2020 was a blessing in disguise. It forced many of us in quarantine. Which forced us to focus or start new businesses, home school our children, pray more, fix and mend relationships or even call them quits. 2020 forced us to slow down.

For me 2020 was interesting. Although, my travel plans didn’t happen, bookings were low; hours were cut at work for a period of time; I had to postpone my 2nd Annual A Father’s Love panel and I lost my next door neighbor and friend. 2020 was still good to me. I still accomplished some of my BIG 2020 goals and made the best of my circumstances. I learned a lot. I grew a lot, and I experienced some new adventures. I grew closer to family and friends and I survived and have my sanity.

What I accomplished in 2020:

  1. Apartment
  2. Increased savings
  3. Finished and published The Evolution of Nia
  4. Rebranded and grew Kuumba Bracelets
  5. Invested more time and money into building my businesses
  6. Made money

2021 please be GREAT to us! We need it.
